Cremation resin jewellery made from ashes. The memorial ring is being worn by a woman

How Jewellery from Ashes Is Made – A Step-by-Step Guide to Memorial Jewellery

What Is Ashes into Jewellery?

Ashes into jewellery is a way to keep a loved one close — a quiet, tangible reminder of someone deeply missed. At Thicket Memorials, we create handmade memorial jewellery using ashes, hair, or fur, crafting each piece with care, compassion, and deep respect. Whether for yourself or as a meaningful gift, cremation jewellery offers more than just beauty — it holds a part of someone special, always with you.

A Personal Process, Handled with Care

Whether you're honouring a partner, parent, child, or beloved pet, the process of creating ashes jewellery is designed to be gentle, respectful, and straightforward.

How to Send Ashes Safely (UK based)

  1. We send you a complete ashes kit
This includes a sealable bag, tools, clear instructions, and a pre-paid return envelope so you can return your materials securely and with ease.
  2. You post your kit back to us
Using the enclosed packaging, you send a small amount of ashes, fur or hair directly to our studio. Most people tell us this step brings a sense of peace.
  3. We confirm receipt by email
As soon as your parcel arrives, we’ll let you know. Your materials are then carefully handled, labelled, and stored securely while your jewellery is made.
  4. Your keepsake is handmade in the UK
We begin crafting your memorial jewellery using your chosen colour and design. The ashes, fur or hair are gently sealed beneath the resin—completely hidden—so you can select any colour with confidence.
  5. Your finished piece is sent with care
We’ll return any unused ashes or fur with your jewellery, along with a Certificate of Authentication bearing your loved one or pet’s name.

🕊 Turnaround time: 1–2 weeks from the day we receive your materials.

How to Send Ashes Safely (Internationally)

We’re honoured to serve families all over the world. For international customers:

  • After you order, we’ll email you step-by-step instructions to help you package and send a small amount of ashes, fur or hair via tracked mail.
  • This process is faster than waiting for a physical kit to arrive by post, but if you’d prefer a kit, we’re happy to send one—just allow an extra 7–10 days.
  • Once we receive your parcel, we’ll confirm by email and begin crafting your piece.
  • Any unused materials will be returned to you safely along with your finished jewellery.

🌐 Please allow extra time for international postage and creation.

Can You See the Ashes in the Jewellery?

Each piece is crafted with a soft, soothing resin colour that gently holds the ashes, fur, or hair. Choose from:

  • Mocha, Light Pink, Navy, Sage, Dark Pink, Black, Lavender, White

Want something more personal? We’re happy to match a custom colour—just send us a photo or note after ordering, and we’ll create a shade that reflects their personality or your favourite memory together.
